Directors, especially first timers, have two things to work on. The first is working with actors. The second is working with crew, and mainly with expressing their vision to the DP, Production Designer/Art Director and, later, the Editor. Many directors get the first, but few understand the importance of the second.
Only when DP’s become involved in Directors’ Salon will Directors have the opportunity to discuss and explore the variety of visual styles possible for a given scene. Directors’ Salon invites the participation of DP’s, Production Designers/Art Directors, and Editors. We also invite your ideas about how we can incorporate your participation into the Directors’ Salon Program.
